What Took Over Our Feeds in March

Social trends

These are the trends that dominated feeds in March. From playful edits to instantly recreatable formats, this is what actually stopped the scroll.

March had range. Content that made us laugh, trends that had us flipping our phones, and formats you immediately wanted to try yourself.

It wasn’t one clear direction, it was a mix of playful ideas, simple executions, and content that just worked.

Welcome back to The Social Trend Drop, your go to cheat sheet for what’s been taking over feeds each month.

Here’s what actually landed.

Landscape Short Film

What it is

Creators are flipping the phone and filming in landscape, turning everyday routines into something that feels closer to a short film than a TikTok. Floor level angles, soft morning light, matcha being poured, skincare layered, outfits pulled together, then out the door. The shift in orientation alone is enough to stop the scroll, but it’s the feeling that keeps you there.

Get Ready Without Me

What it is

A subtle twist on the classic GRWM. The creator starts getting ready, mid routine they disappear, then cuts back to them fully done and ready for the day. The gap is the hook. It plays with expectation, cuts the filler, and lands on the payoff.

Colourful Messages

What it is

Minimal visuals paired with bold, colourful text layered over the screen. Bright pinks, electric blues, lilacs, yellows. The message becomes the main character. It feels more like design than captioning. Quick to consume, visually striking, and built for thumb stopping in a sea of neutral tones.

I Know What You Like

What it is

Set to Carla’s Song by Harry Styles, creators build a two part reveal. “I know what you like” followed by “I know what you really like,” cutting to a collage of personal favourites. Coffee orders, playlists, outfits, habits. It’s a snapshot of someone’s personality, packaged in a way that feels both specific and widely relatable.

Why You So Obsessed With Me

What it is

A creator calls out loudly while walking past a group, pulling their attention. As heads turn, the frame freezes and hits with the “Why you so obsessed with me” audio. The reactions are what make it, it’s your world and everyone else is just caught off guard in it.
